Introduction to Our Exciting Opportunity

Working with CNN was an incredible opportunity for the band. We were all on a high, excited about the exposure and possibilities this collaboration could bring. There's something special about seeing your band on a major platform. However, amidst all the excitement and hard work, we had one hilarious moment that we will never forget.

The Day of the Collaboration

Everything was going smoothly on the day we went live with Richard Quest, one of CNN's most recognised anchors. Kent & Jake's studios buzzed with anticipation, and we rehearsed our segments meticulously. Richard Quest was professional and energetic, making everyone comfortable on set. Then, it happened—Jake, our enthusiastic guitarist, missed his cue entirely!

The Moment of the Blunder

So there we were, live on CNN, with Richard Quest leading into our segment. All eyes were on Jake, who was supposed to provide some key insights about the band and the life we lead whilst travelling around Europe for weddings and events. Richard gave the cue, and we waited... and we waited... but Jake was in his own world, blissfully unaware that all attention was on him. It wasn’t until Richard had to fill the silence with a bit of improv that Jake snapped back to reality, completely apologetic and embarrassed.

Reflecting on the Experience

Despite Jake missing the cue, the segment went on to be a success thanks to Richard Quest’s quick thinking and the team’s resilience. After the show, we couldn’t stop laughing about the incident. It became one of those shared stories that bring bands closer together. We learned the importance of being present in the moment and always having a backup plan. Jake took it all in stride, understanding that even professionals can have a slip-up.

A Good Laugh and Valuable Learning

This experience with CNN, especially the memorable moment with Jake and Richard Quest, taught us a lot about live broadcasting, teamwork, and handling unexpected situations. A good laugh does wonders to ease the nerves, and it’s a story that demonstrates our band's ability to recover and adapt. We look forward to more partnerships, silly blunders included!
